This is the powder used to make the
Iced Chocolate Almond milk Shaken Espresso
3 shots Starbucks Blonde Espresso
2 tablespoons chocolate malt powder
1 cup ice + more to top drink if needed
¼ cup almond milk + more to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
Put espresso shots, chocolate malt powder, and ice into a cocktail shaker. Shake 10 times.
No cocktail shaker? Use a jar with a tight lid.
Pour drink into a cup.
Add almond milk.
Top off with more ice if needed.
NOTES
There's 3 shots of espresso in this grande sized drink but it's tricky to make 3 since most machines make 2 espresso shots. BUT, 3 shots makes the drink perfect in that it's not too weak and not too strong. Try making it with 2 shots first.
Blonde espresso can be made in an espresso machine, or a Nespresso. You can also use cold brewed blond roasted coffee if you don't have either. A strong coffee concentrate is what you want.
Blonde espresso is a lightly roasted coffee that's smoother and less intense than their signature espresso. Blonde espresso contains more caffeine.
Make cold brew using ground blonde roast and a cold brew maker.
There's no need to add simple syrup to this drink unless you like your drink extra sweet since the chocolate malt powder and almond milk both contain sugar.
If you don't have blonde espresso, use your regular espresso roast. The Starbucks Iced Shaken Espresso drink is made with their signature espresso, not blonde espresso.
Starbucks makes theirs with a splash of almond milk (about 1/4 cup) but feel free to add a little more to your liking.
Instead of almond milk, top off your drink with
cold foam
or
Vanilla Sweet Cream cold foam!
Any airtight container will work to shake the drink ingredients together. A jar with a tight lid or a wide-mouth water bottle.
